A story that deserves to be told

In 2008 we developed a machine to automate the unit-dose process and started from scratch.

At one point, a few years ago, one of the partners said:

“These hospital people have a lot of problems, we should help them”.

We put Patient Safety as an objective in the company’s mission, and then things started to change. As engineers, we decided to pursue a postgraduate degree in Quality and Patient Safety.

The process began to accelerate. Our clients realized that our passion for this topic was real.

Currently, we are a rapidly developing medium-sized company, present in 750 hospitals in 21 countries.

The information provided by the Opuspac System is good help for the nursing team, who are the potential second victims of the process.

We converted the unit-dose packaging into a means of communication.

We develop software, machines and systems to induce the reading of the name of the medicine. We added Pharmaceutical Doctors to our team to develop all 90 layouts and evolved into full automation, making it simple and low-cost.

We intend to make our solutions accessible to hospital institutions of any size, in several countries.

Testimonials

With the acquisition of OPUS 30X, there was an increase in productivity and an improvement in the process of information generated on packaging, in order to ensure the quality of the pharmaceutical chain within the Institution.

Patrícia Zinsly Borges, Pharmacy Department Coordinator, Hospital Vera Cruz, Campinas, SP.

Opuspac, in addition to being easy for employees to operate and greatly speeding up the medication unitization process, is innovative in its concern for the safety of the medication process and the possibility of providing guidance on risks and warnings about medications for the care team.

Opus 30 brought us many improvements related to productivity and quality of printed information, mainly bringing safety to patients, as all necessary visual communication is formattable, including color communication.

Marcelo Borges, Materials Manager at Real Hospital Português, Recife, PE

We have a good partnership with Opus. Their service is very good and the fact that they are a Brazilian manufacturer makes a difference. The acquisition cost-benefit is worthwhile and meets FH’s operational needs.

Dr. Ronelly Rodrigues, Pharmaceutical Manager, from the AMIL group, who has already purchased 22 machines

The MK5 oral liquid medication fractionation machine allowed us to better adapt the dispensing process of most medications in liquid pharmaceutical form for oral/enteral use previously available in multi-dose vials.

With the acquisition of this automated solution, the pharmacy service had a significant increase in productivity in the Unitary Dose Pharmacy, starting to produce sachets with fractionated volumes of fully traceable liquid medicines, with DataMatrix code, with safety alerts on their packaging, with signage for controlled medicines and those with reduced validity.

It reduced losses due to sharing bottles and minimized the risk of adverse events due to the availability of these medications in care units. Sachet packaging is economical, practical, easy to use and easy to open.
